Salt Ion Diffusion Behavior and Adsorption Characteristics of Fracturing Fluid in Tight Sandstone Gas Reservoir

The degree of salinity in the hydraulic fracturing rejection fluid Shaximiao reservoir central Sichuan Basin is high, and underlying mechanism causing this not clearly understood. We evaluated rock structure tight sandstone, including composition, pore structure, ion diffusion, adsorption behavior, to determine how influences sandstone’s interaction with fluid. X-ray diffraction revealed that mineral fraction has a significant clay concentration. results linear swelling experiments water sensitivity sandstone reservoirs exhibits moderately robust characteristics. time required for salt diffusion stabilization much longer than self-imbibition stabilization, ions almost log-linear after imbibition stabilization. rates were determined different single minerals particle sizes, sizes controlling rates. samples treated concentrations KCl acrylamide polymer solutions, both size distribution throat properties characterized by low-temperature nitrogen adsorption. Although isotherms polymers are consistent Langmuir model, their mechanisms acting on effect inconsistent. potassium chloride enhances rock’s diameter permeability increasing uniformity electrostatic particles.
